We’ve all been there. When you need your smartphone most, it is all out of battery. Hopefully, those situations are not life threatening and the only real harm is missing a few hours browsing through your social network feed until you find a power socket to charge your phone.

However, imagine that this situation is not as simple as that. Imagine you’re driving through the night and suddenly have a flat tire. You look at your phone and it’s all out of juice. Scary, isn’t it?

With this illustration, we wanted to show you what it means to have a portable charger at hand that can get you out of the unfortunate situation you’re in. Portable chargers are really great and can prevent a lot of frustration and sometimes (as we’ve seen from our example) even dangerous situations.

However, not all portable chargers are the same. One of the main features we expect from good portable chargers is to be reliable. That’s the whole purpose of the device, to give you a helping hand when you’re in need.

That’s why we’ve decided to put one of the best portable chargers currently on the market to the test and see if it deserves the praise it gets.

The “Anker PowerCore+ mini 3350mAh Lipstick-Sized Portable Charger” model is a continuation of the portable chargers the company is known for from the past. Anker products scream design and are often extremely stylish. However, we’re interested in performance, so we tried to not be taken away by its look.

The device has great features and shines in terms of capacity as well as in durability. However, we’ve found that it may have problems when encountering different devices. This, however, should be looked up right away in the manual, so you don’t try to connect devices simply not compatible with this portable charger.

Since the Anker portable charger is a low-cost product, we’ve compared it to the somewhat similar “Jackery Mini Premium 3200mAh Portable Charger” model. We found that the specs of both portable chargers are somewhat the same; however, the Anker product has a much shorter charging time and thus wins this round.

The other product we compared it with was the “iXCC 3400mAH Power Bank” model. This little, but powerful device has a bit more capacity (50mAh) than the Anker charger, but this doesn’t mean much when comparing the overall performance the two products showed.

The “Anker PowerCore+ mini 3350mAh Lipstick-Sized Portable Charger” is a stable, reliable and overall great charger to have.

Its small size makes it ideal for travel and the performance it delivers, is simply put, amazing in comparison to other devices of the same price range. The somewhat odd design makes it a stylish accessory that could be worn as a keychain, but it also fits in any handbag with ease.

The one thing we did have a problem with was that the device performed somewhat poorly with different devices. While the charging speed with one Samsung Android device was extremely satisfying, other models and smartphone brands did not perform as well.

Later we found out that the manual states some of the models that this model is tested with, so you should keep in mind checking if your device is on the list.

In the end, it has to be noted that we had no other problems with this portable charger. It is reliable and fast when paired with the devices it’s compatible with.

Furthermore, it has a relatively short charging time for a device with a capacity of 3400mAh, which makes this product not only good looking and stylish, but also extremely practical in real life conditions.

We would highly recommend this portable charger to anyone who needs a small and budget friendly charger, but who doesn’t want to skim on the performance. If you fall into this category, this is the portable charger for you.
